Andrew and Stephanie Weston celebrated Stephanie’s Jan. 1 birthday by going to the Hoof N’ Holler bull and bronc riding event and New Year’s Eve party at the Linn County Expo Center in Albany with Stephanie’s parents, Tony and Debbie Rodriguez.

Pedee Church’s Christmas Eve candlelight service was special this year as the children’s program highlighted the event, which was written and acted almost totally by the kids, and directed by Heather Traglia.

The Women’s Club met at Mel and Marguerite Nice’s home in McMinnville today for a Christmas potluck.

The beautiful Christmas carols and other seasonal tunes have taken flight from the airwaves and it’s somewhat bittersweet to say good-bye to music that helped transform the dark and rainy days in this wintry season.

Former Pedee resident Ted South, 78, died on Dec. 2. He grew up on Shady Lane, going to school in Pedee and lived there until the ’60s. He was the brother of Carla Burbank.
